Stopped by my favorite place on the way home and picked up a few more of their 1000 beers. Again, I must say the workers in the Pembroke Pines store were terrific--not with me as I was good--but with everyone that asked a crazy ridiculous question while I was there.
First for tonight. A gift that keeps on giving (go to 2:50 if you're impatient). Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA from Dogfish Head Craft Brewery in Milton, Delaware. Now I say it keeps on giving because after you take a sip of this beer, the hoppy bite keeps coming back for more (like that boxer who is getting his ass kicked but keeps getting up off the canvas for a few more punches). The hops in this are tremendous and I can understand why this would be the favorite of anyone. The aroma is also very citrusy and fresh. For some reason I feel like I am tasting a bouquet of flowers. Crisp and refreshing but I think a normal person would not drink more than two of these in a row. Maybe that's the point.
For me, I like the Stone IPA I had last week a little bit better. But it was like as close as the Bobby Flay Throwdown results are every week--usually a coin flip. I must say that both are tremendous India Pale Ales.
And wow, my second Iron Chef comment (for those of you not up to date on your Iron Chefs, Bobby Flay is one too--click the link and you can see him there too). Morimoto was the other one.
