No new American craft beers around the house and no time to stop by anywhere but Publix on the way home. But I did pick up some of one of my very favorites Liberty Ale. However, the Liberty Ale is gonna have to wait for my new one of the evening--Pilsner Urquell brewed by Pilsner Urquell, A.S., PLZEN/PILSEN, CZECH REPUBLIC. I left the capitals because that's what my bottle's label has and I have no idea what to do with the crazy accents and too many consonants in a row.
Anyway, this beer is very flavorful and smooth. There are definitely hops flavors bringing on some bitterness, but for sure you taste other things too. There are some caramel-like and nutty flavors and even the aroma is very nice, like a sweet subtle flower (did I say that?). Anyway, the aroma I wasn't expecting, so pardon the brief wuss-out. And the beer in general, I was expecting much less. This is a very nice brew.
One last comment is that I really need to find out how to pronounce the PLZ together. To me that looks like an airport code identifier. Just wondering.

Out of the few that I sampled this weekend, this has to be one of my favorites. It was a great choice to watch a few baseball games back to back, enjoy the beer and not feel full after the end of the game.
I also combined it with TsingTao, which I also found very smooth.
There was also another Czech beer, I think called just Czech, not sure (green bottle, red letters on label). That was ok too - I'm starting to understand why one of the original Master Brewers back home for Polar brewery was of Czech decent.
