Presidente Cerveza Pilsener Beer

Well, this may begin my run on the massive amounts of beers from Latin and South America available here in South Florida. One of the old standards here in my Miramar neighborhood is Presidente, which is a beer brewed in the Dominican Republic and imported by Miller.

Very cheap at the store, always available, you can find this at most parties (along with Corona) around this area. This beer is not very good, and unless it's very cold it's almost undrinkable except in the most dire of beer deficit circumstances. If it's the last 12 pack in the grocery store an hour before the hurricane hits, then by all means grab it. If it's the only beer at the party, sure have a couple (unless you live next door like I do to the party where I grabbed this one); in that case, get something from your fridge.

I guess I am saying that this beer seems to always taste "skunked" even when it's fresh. Very alcoholic aftertaste, it smells like my roommate used to when he came home every night when I was just out of college. I must just not be getting it, why so many people here continue to drink it. Maybe they should read my website here and get some new ideas.

Trust me, I just had one to put me in the mood for this post, and I need a chaser.

The imported presidente does taste like crap. IDK why but Ice cold Presidente in the Dominican Republic is just amazing to me.

Hey islyfe. Thanks for stopping by. I've never been to DR, so I don't know the difference. I have heard that a lot though, that the imported versions are different to satisfy some laws.

Also this is one of my least favorite styles of beer, so that could weigh on my opinion too.

Talk to you soon.
