Blue Moon Brewing Co. is apparently ready to call it a Winter. Thank God, I'm glad that's over! Actually "Winter" in South Florida equals about 3 nights per year that end up in the high 30's. And out comes the full ski gear on Lincoln Road in South Beach. You've never ever seen anything quite like the wusses that live in Miami Beach on a cold night. Not everyone, but enough people to give a reputation.
So Rising Moon Spring Ale is part of a Seasonal Collection. Their label also calls this one Blue Moon Spring Ale (probably someone there at this brewery got fired for not being careful before sending to the printer), but you get the point here. They say you are to celebrate the end of winter with this beer. Finally something to celebrate, because I thought I was gonna do that last night with my Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale, but then my date stood me up. Anyway, winter in South Florida is over if it ever even started. I've been growing tomatoes and cucumbers and pumpkins and squash since the beginning of January. Bite me, Pennsylvanians! I jest, I am one, just don't deal with their weather anymore.
Finally, the beer is very refreshing. Light, crisp, nice flavors. There is definitely a light lime taste (surprise! there is supposedly an infusion of fresh Kieffer lime leaves and lime peel). I am pleased this isn't like that Bud Lime crap that Anheuser Busch put out not too long ago. The lime is for sure, but it is subtle, and I think you should all try this one.
