So I just started the afternoon with a Sierra Nevada Porter and was very pleased with that choice. Now I am moving on to the Sierra Nevada Stout, hoping for a super beer.
Wow! Let me take another bite of this Stout. This is an extremely thick beer. Reminds me a bit of Guinness, which I also love. Great roasted and chocolate-like flavors. This is the kind of beer that I imagine monks drink during their fasting months. This could sustain a person who is not actually eating food. Hmmm. That gives me an idea.
Well, it seems that Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. is becoming one of my favorites. Two great beers in a row. According to their packaging, these guys have a taproom and restaurant in Chico where you can try their Pale Ale, Porter, Stout and Wheat; and seasonally their Pale Bock, Summerfest, Celebration Ale (which I did just see at the store, so gotta go get me some), and Bigfoot Barleywine Style Ale. Visiting sounds like a plan, although I'm not sure when I'm going to get to California next.
