Ok. First a story about a trip to Belgium--it's possible I told this before. Maybe there's a lesson in this. On a train from Paris to Amsterdam, my train stopped in Brussels. I took a leak in the train station bathroom and on the way out the lady asked for 10 francs. I couldn't believe it, but paid her. Afterward it was concluded she wanted 10 Belgian francs, and my disbelief was the French franc conversion. So $1.40 v. $0.20 to pee was huge. Thank God these dudes have Euros now. And Amsterdam was cool. Duh.
Stella Artois brewed by Stella Artois Brewery is billed as Belgium's original beer and a premium lager. Talk about old. It says since 1366 on the label. Compare that to bragging rights here in the States.
I like this beer about as much as Stanley Kowalski liked his Stella in A Streetcar Named Desire. Stella! I just don't see why people like this. It's very bland. It tastes like there is milk mixed in with it. And I can't believe I just bought a 12-pack of it. It's not like I've never had this before and couldn't resist all the people building it up.
Just another sub-par boring lager. Time for something else.
