Sunrise Weissbier

Just got back from the pool. Was there for seven minutes before the thunder and lightning and black clouds rumbled in. I spent about 30 minutes getting the kids ready with suntan lotion and snacks (and beers, for me), so clearly I just made a big wasted effort for nothing. If it passes soon, we'll go back. So we'll see.

Considering how those weather events just unfolded, I chose to drink Sunrise Weissbier, an unfiltered wheat beer brewed by Victory Brewing Company in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. The bottle has a nice picture of a giant yellow sun coming up over a small rural village. Oh and the sun has a big smile! Enjoy by May 14, 2011.

Lemon aroma with a touch of spice. The flavors start out with more banana than anything else. There are also so very nice lemon and orange citrus flavors mixed in with a noticeable clove presence. There is quite the little zing, and that is further accentuated by a great high-level carbonation. Tingly in my mouth and quite refreshing. I drank it straight from the bottle and don't care that I didn't follow the instructions on the label to pour slowly into a tall glass. Smooth. Good body. Nice flavors. Can't ask for anything more. And yes, I did cut the grass today, but it shouldn't matter!
