Yuengling Dark Brewed Porter

This afternoon I'm drinking Yuengling Dark Brewed Porter brewed by D.G. Yuengling & Son in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. The label is a deep red color and it says "brewed expressly for tavern & family trade", whatever the hell that means. I hadn't seen this guy around these parts until my trip to Total Wine this morning. Twist-off cap!

Chocolate and nutty, roasted aroma, very nice. Roasted and toasted and very malty flavors, beginning to end. There are some burnt flavors too, but that part is not overdone. I hate beers that have too much of that. Chocolate and tea (I swear, it kept coming back, every sip). Smooth, creamy and best of all tasty. The body was a little thin; medium carbonation was perfect. Just a solid, flavorful beer!

I just picked up a sixer of this in Tampa because Gold Coast never carried it down here. If it is finally down here then I am happy.

Hey Mike. Yeah, I bought it in Pembroke Pines. I did a double-take, but looks like Gold Coast decided we're worth it.

I like the Black and Tan, but this one might have replaced that as my favorite.
