Today I'm drinking Éphémère brewed by Unibroue in Chambly, Quebec, Canada. Definitely one of my favorite non-American breweries. This is an ale brewed with apple juice and spices on lees. The label depicts some sort of Tinkerbell fairy in an exotic water garden. I did review this almost a year ago, but I remembered liking it then, so here we go again. Best Before 09-23-12.

Apple and lemon yeasty sour aroma, very pleasant. Love the crisp apple flavors in the beginning, tart and very much like apple cider. Strong carbonation makes the fruits stand out more, excellent. The yeast flavors and texture work well with the tartness. There is also a nice spicy orange zest along with some coriander, great flavors and not overdone. More apple juice. I hear you if you say this is a bit un-beer-like, I do. But flavor-wise, this is terrific, not too sweet and refreshing. Mr. 5.5% alcohol never even stops in to see if you need another beer, the Bastard. Anyway, check it out!
