Best Beers 2010 Winners

Thanks to all of you that participated in my Best Beer 2010 Contest. I realize that making a real poll with buttons to select may have brought more votes, but I thought this format was much more fun and interesting. It also allowed for some interesting comments, which I appreciate (even those that were made by people who obviously didn't read the introduction, LOL).

In the end, eight beers each had four votes, which was the most. So this is the list of those, an eighter I could drink often! In alphabetical order, YOUR WINNERS:

Bear Republic Racer 5 India Pale Ale

Bell's Hopslam Ale

Brooklyn Sorachi Ace

Dogfish Head Burton Baton

Oskar Blues Gubna Imperial IPA

Southern Tier Choklat Imperial Stout

Stone Double Bastard Ale

Terrapin Moo Hoo Chocolate Milk Stout

I refrained from voting during the contest, but before tallying this list, I picked my top choices since a few of you asked me. After thinking back to each as best I could remember, including the experiences surrounding drinking them (like Joel said, they can't be separated, though I mostly drink alone)....

...I selected My Top Sixer for the year, in order:

Russian River Supplication

Green Flash Le Freak Ale

Sierra Nevada Estate Homegrown Ale

Goose Island Sofie 2010

Southern Tier Crème Brûlée Imperial Stout

Brooklyn Sorachi Ace

I was surprised that almost every beer from the list of 60 received at least one vote. Thank you as well for the write-ins which have helped me lengthen my wish list. A few of you were surprised that a couple of beers I've reviewed didn't make the list despite an awesome summary. Pure chance that I didn't drink them in 2010--remember the nominees were my Top Five from each month in 2010.

I'll probably keep doing monthly Top Fives since it's fun to look back at the year and remember the best ones. Thanks again for your participation and interest.
