Blue Point Blueberry Ale

Today I'm drinking Blue Point Blueberry Ale brewed by Blue Point Brewing Company in Patchogue, New York. The label depicts what appears to be a crate of blueberries. I think they should use more and contrasting colors instead of a mostly brown board theme and to also make the name of the beer stand out better.

Fruity aroma, more generic and tough to pick out blueberries. Fizzy, faint blueberry flavors. A little grain, but that's about it. Kinda boring and bland. On the lightly sweet side with good carbonation. Refreshing, but that's about it.

I drank one of these Sunday by the pool. I don't normally drink fruit beers, but this one was a gift. I thought it was a pretty good beer for a hot Florida afternoon. Light and crisp with a hint of blueberry flavor. Too many fruit beers go heavy on the fruit to a point where you forget you're drinking a beer.

Hey Dale.

You have a good point there. Overdone fruit is way worse.
