Clipper City Brewing Company in Baltimore, Maryland. Just a few days ago I was all over their Loose Cannon IPA, so let's hope this one is as spectacular! The label again has the cartoon pirate and his parrot sidekick. This time they look doomed on their raft, which I guess is the small craft. The dark green with bold white lettering continues the style from the series. Very nice presentation. Purchase before June, 2011.
OK. Smells like a pilsner, grainy yet clean. Clean alcohol, phenolic right from the beginning. You know that there's alcohol but the flavors are subtle. There is a light sweetness and grainy earth flavor, but again, laid back. Creamy smooth and warming. The 7% alcohol, present throughout, leaves you with a spirits-like finish. No bad flavors, but as Homebrew Vanessa thought out loud a few weeks ago, it wasn't my thing. Try it if you'd like.
