Alpine Glacier Lager

Today I'm drinking Alpine Glacier Lager brewed by Tommyknocker Brewery & Pub in Idaho Springs, Colorado. The label depicts an adventurer using ice picks to climb a steep ice wall while a pissed off ram on the other side is just begging for the opportunity to knock him back down to the bottom. There's a story on the back that I'll let you read in the photo below. Notched date of March, 2011. A 2 and 4 are also notched on the other edge, but I don't know what they are for.

Lemon forward, grainy and hoppy aroma. A bit sweeter than I expected initially with lots of bread and grain flavors. Some citrus along with high carbonation do keep that sweetness toned down. Lightly grassy and herbal with a little metallic middle. Not a watery beer at all, rather thicker with a dish detergent feel in the mouth. Not particularly refreshing, though the bitter ending was a plus. No bad flavors but still just an OK average-ish beer.
