Hoppy Boy India Pale Ale

Today I'm drinking Hoppy Boy India Pale Ale brewed by Twisted Pine Brewing Company in Boulder, Colorado. The new guy at my Total Wine told me this was one they just received, so I grabbed it along with two others from this brewery. The label has a background of hop buds with a twisted branch on top. I love the name and the funny letters make it stand out more.

Light fruity orange with a little bread and spice for an aroma. The flavors? Much more bitter than the aroma let on. Very piney and astringent. Lemon peel and grass and some spicy black pepper kick around at your palate. Any balance was extremely limited. Nice bite, though. You finish with a medicinal and alcohol dry ending, the worst part of the experience. Whisk that away and add just a little more sweet balance and I believe this beer would be much better. As it stands, though, it's a not a bad beer. Check it out if it's around.

Check this out. They sell this pretty sweet bicycle jersey for this particular beer brand!

The color of it is beautiful! That alone makes me want to drink it.

No doubt. I didn't really pay attention until you said that. If you click the picture, it's gigantic. Maybe that'll help until you buy it.
