Spicy ginger aroma, a little hoppy too. Taste is terrible! SO MUCH GINGER! On top of being overly spiced, this is way too sweet and tastes like plastic. Gag face. One more chance. Repeat gag face. Dump. This was one of the worst beers I've ever put past my lips. Beyond the bad tastes, the feeling in the mouth is very harsh, and the aftertaste lingers for at least two teeth brushings. If this were the last beer on Mount Desert Island, I'd rather be thirsty! Horrible!

I would just like to add that Island Ginger....is NOT beer!
What exactly is it then?
Atlantic Brewing calls it a "refreshing wheat beer" and they are the ones that brewed it. http://www.atlanticbrewing.com/beer-20.htm
Beer Advocate calls it an Herbed/Spiced Beer with 5.2% alcohol content http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/378/6950
The Beer Babe says it's a beer. http://www.thebeerbabe.com/2007/08/atlantic-brewing-company-mount-desert-island-ginger/
Are you just making a joke that it's so bad that calling it a beer would be insulting to beer? Because that's some rationale I could get behind.
Thanks for the comment.
