Chasing Tail Golden Ale

Today I'm drinking Chasing Tail Golden Ale brewed by Squatters/Utah Brewers Cooperative in Salt Lake City, Utah. The front label depicts a Golden Retriever that is thinking, "a little tail goes a long way". The brewery donates 5 cents to No More Homeless Pets in Utah for every Chasing Tail bottle cap returned. This beer won a 2003 Gold and 2004 Silver at the Great American Beer Festival in the English Style Summer Ale Category. No born on date like the other samples the brewery sent me.

Grain and a strange minty tea aroma, weird and unpleasant. Sweet corn and doughy flavors start things off, followed by some malty tea. This has some hoppy, minty qualities that balance the initial sweetness. Earthy and dirty flavors continue into a dry finish. Carbonation is good. The flavors in this beer were a bit strange, just like the aroma, and I didn't particularly enjoy this at all. The dog is cute, though.
