Cubano-style Espresso

Today I'm drinking Cubano-style Espresso, a brown ale brewed by Cigar City Brewing in Tampa, Florida. I believe this is their Maduro Brown Ale with vanilla, cacao and coffee beans added. The story on the back lets you know these coffee beans are Cuban-style espresso beans from Mazzaro Italian Market. The label has a coffee bean background with a steaming espresso shot front and center. Nice presentation.

Rich, malty, awesome espresso aroma--the full coffee house in my nose. Huge roasted coffee flavors dominate and are quite spectacular. Not burnt, either, perfect. Light chocolate and hints of vanilla are also noticeable but nuanced. Smooth with just the right amount of carbonation. As you progress, some nutty flavors bounce in and out along with an interesting dried tobacco leaf taste.

Leans bitter but not by too much. Smooth with just the right amount of carbonation. Nice medium body. Dry finish. The 5.5% alcohol was not really noticeable at any stage. What you have here is a fabulous brown ale with a huge espresso investment. If you see this, grab it. It's really delicious and it's definitely what's for breakfast!
