Revel Red

Today I'm drinking Revel Red, a "Hoppy Ale" brewed by Stoudts Brewing Company in Adamstown, Pennsylvania. Pretty simple label with just the name on the front in bold red colors. The V is made of bottle caps.

Hoppy orange citrus aroma, quite herbal with just a touch of bread dough. Bitter, hoppy and lemony flavors dominate the beginning. Those evolve into a medicinal and astringent combination that reminded me of chewing a Hall's Menthol cough drop. Next up, flower petals, earthiness. Barely a whisper of malty bread balance before finishing with more of that lemony flavor. A bit thin in the body, high carbonation. I didn't enjoy this very much. Find something else.
