Lovely, Dark and Deep Oatmeal Stout

Lovely, Dark and Deep Oatmeal Stout is Brewery Ommegang's new winter seasonal. If you click that link, you'll see that they haven't lost the recipe to the replaced beer, Adoration, though.

Now, I went to college in Ithaca, NY (Winter Hell) but have NEVER been inspired by Robert Frost or even made it through one of his entire poems. Apparently Frost's Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening was the inspiration for this beer's name and recipe. Must not have been that cold though since the horse on the label was able to drink from the stream. 5.3% alcohol.

Cocoa and coffee aroma with just a hint of smoke, very pleasant. Choco-caramel flavors to start with some light roast and again a hint of smoke. There is a definite raisiny, pruney thread to this beer as well that persists throughout. Medium body at best, too thin, wanted richer. Not bad overall.
