I recently grabbed a can of Stone's Enjoy By 01.01.19 Brut IPA. I haven't had the opportunity to try other Brut IPA's, though I did see a few other options on the shelves. I guess this is the new cool thing? "A Festively Fresh Double IPA" 9.4% alcohol. 90 IBU. Canned 11/26/2018 Drink 12/23/2018 so I did make the beer name date!
Fruity tangerine aroma. Fruity flavors too, orange marmalade, rich and jammy. Light pine and some spiciness shows through, nicely bitter. Then a super dry finish, yeasty lingering into the aftertaste.
You can tell this beer has a killer DIPA base, but I'm not sure I'm in love with the "Brut" aspect. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Today I'm checking out Bou Lou, Boulevard's collaboration beer with Tech N9ne and Strange Music. It seems this collaboration is about two Kansas City institutions that got started at roughly the same time decided to make a beer together. Pounder can art is cool. 5.5% alcohol. 10 IBU.
Bou Lou is a wheat beer with pineapple and coconut added. Light pineapple aroma. So creamy! Tangy with a whipped pineapple smoothie feel to start. And the coconut complements that perfectly.
Nice texture, leans to the sweet side and that kind of gets to you after a while. I didn't need 16 oz and probably should have shared. Ripe pineapple and coconut totally match up, and the wheat base was a nice base beer for them. Check it out!

Founders Brewing's Art Prize Beer: Trigo Hoppy Wheat Lager. 6.3% alcohol. 35 IBU. "Drink Responsibly. They Don't Serve Founders in the Clink."
Super hoppy and tangy aroma, full of tropical fruit and candied tangerines. Loved it! Similar flavors. Bright tangerines, sharp yet sweet with a candied flavor. Lots of tang. Nicely bitter leaning, plenty hoppy. Great beer!

Duvel brewed a Single Fermented Belgian Golden Ale. Are you surprised? A little story on the 16.9 oz can sets your expectations. 6.8% alcohol.
Yeasty aroma with hints of apple. Soft apple flavors ride a noticeable Belgian yeast wave. A little funky and a little spicy with hints of cloves and black pepper. Kind of grows on you in a good way. Well balanced, sweet and bitter, simple and tasty.
