Karnival Kölsch

Today I'm drinking Karnival Kölsch brewed by Stoudts Brewing Company in Adamstown, Pennsylvania. The label depicts a carnival scene, featuring a giant Ferris Wheel while the strong man and tight-rope-walking chick stand nearby.

Toasted grain, lemon citrus and a soft fruity aroma. The fruit translates nicely in the beginning with a light peach sweetness. The toasted grain is also noticeable near the beginning of each sip. After the initial flavors dissipate, a spicy hops flavor dominates the rest of the way. Carbonation is prickly and aggressive, perhaps even a little too dominant by the end of the bottle. You are left with a dry, bitter, lemony finish and aftertaste. Refreshing. Nice flavors. Give it a go!
