Grovetoberfest 2013

Yesterday afternoon, I went as a member of the Press to the Third Annual Grovetoberfest beer festival at Peacock Park in Coconut Grove, Florida. It was a beautiful yet incredibly hot day, perfect for some beery refreshments! And there were plenty to be had. I got reacquainted with some old favorites and tried a handful of new treats for the first time. My wife and thousands of others also sampled hundreds of options and picked out their own personal winners.

Along the way, I bumped into lots of friends, some I knew a long time and others I had only met online. (BTW, that joke I heard a bunch of times about me never leaving SW Broward is getting old and isn't even accurate.) I was amazed by the amount of beer brands that were represented in the shirts that attendees were wearing. And as promised, I took photos of dozens of those. YOU MUST CLICK AND GO LOOK!

There were lots of food options and ample room to sit and relax and eat and have a really fun time. There were beer classes, cooking demonstrations, and a very good cover band as well. I would highly recommend putting this event on your calendar for next year! I had a great time! Update: Click here to see more pictures besides the handful below.
