Grapefruit Sculpin IPA

I've recently seen a lot of social media chatter about Ballast Point Brewing's Grapefruit Sculpin IPA, so I wanted to check out this West Coast classic with a twist for myself. The label is the same as the original, except for some of the background colors changing to pink grapefruit flesh color. Same angry fish with poisonous spikes on its fins, just marinated with grapefruits now, I suppose. 7.0% alcohol.

Really great aroma, full of grapefruit and the original tropical tangerines and peaches, super juicy. Terrific flavors! Fruity, both in a citrus grapefruit type of way, but also some tropical pineapple sweetness in the background. Plenty of bitterness: citrus, fresh resinous green hops, pine, but then again come excellent gentle fruity sweetness.

Sharp, crisp, awesome flavors and balance. I actually prefer the original which leans a little more toward the tropical sweet fruity side, but this is definitely a nice variation on a great beer. Check it out!
